Forensic Science Advising

Forensic Science Adviser

The Forensic Science program has a dedicated undergraduate adviser, Noelle Waggett, to assist students with academic and career planning, change of assignment (COA) students from PSU Commonwealth campuses, and transfer students from other universities.

Students can contact Noelle at nrw107@psu.edu or schedule an appointment with Noelle using Starfish.

 

Entrance-to-Major (ETM)

For students who begin at Penn State in Fall 2024 or later, entrance-to-major requirements are CHEM 110CHEM 111CHEM 112, CHEM 210FRNSC 210MATH 140, MATH 141, and PHYS 211 or PHYS 250 with a grade of C or better, as well as a cumulative 2.5 GPA for these eight entrance-to-major classes. Students must also have a 2.0 overall GPA.

Students who began in fall 2012 through summer 2024 must complete CHEM 110CHEM 111CHEM 112, FRNSC 210, and MATH 140 with a grade of C or better in order to enter the major. Students must also have a 2.0 overall GPA.

 

Eberly College of Science Academic Advising Center

The Forensic Science program is housed in the Eberly College of Science. The Eberly College of Science Academic Advising Center can offer additional support and referrals for students. The Advising Center is located in Ritenour. Advising@PSU is also a good source of academic advising and academic information.

 

Suggested Academic Plans

Students follow the suggested academic plan (SAP) that corresponds with the semester they began at Penn State. For example, if your first semester at Penn State was Spring 2023, you would use the Bulletin SAP for the Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 school year. 

The Faculty Senate has recently approved updates to the Forensic Science curriculum for students who began in Fall 2023 or later, but these changes are not yet reflected in the currently published Bulletin. Please use the PDFs below for accurate SAPs if your starting semester is Fall 2023 or later.
